Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: One of my drivers earned bonus points (pole, outside
pole, led the most laps), but my score doesn't seem to include
those points. Why?
A1: The bonus points are earned by the driver, not the team.
If the driver is not one of the top twelve scoring drivers on
your team, the bonus points go down with the driver and are not
included in that week's total.
Q2: I think an error was made on one of my teams. What
do I do?
A2: First, check the results web page for the week in question.
If the sheet says 'Preliminary' at the top, the results haven't
been compared to the official NASCAR results yet. If the
sheet isn't preliminary and there is still a discrepancy in the
points, send a note to fracing@ovaltrack.com
with the following information: each driver on your team and
the points you think each each one should have earned. We will
not send you the list of your drivers and their points. (See
Q5 below.) (Note: All results pages now include the list of drivers
in that week's race and the points they earned that week.)
Q3: Why is the trade deadline on Thursday at noon?
A3: There are a couple of reasons. First, we wanted to make
sure that no one would have an advantage over others by trading
based on information from qualifying and practice from the track
for that weekend. Secondly, since players can not wait for that
information, it helps spread out the amount of trades received
throughout the week, which eases the work needed to enter the
trades into the system.
Q4: I made a trade this week. How do I know if it was made?
A4: All results pages list every team that made a trade that
week including how many they made. An asterisk (*) indicates
that that team made an invalid trade. If your trade was made
after the deadline (Thursday noon), it will appear on the next
week's results page.
Q5: Why is there a five dollar fee to get the list of my
drivers?
A5: The fee is in place to encourage players to maintain
their own list of drivers. With the number of teams in the hundreds,
it was putting a severe strain on the organizers providing driver
lists for everyone who asked.
Q6: Why do invalid trades count against my total of four
trades?
A6: When you try to trade away a driver you don't have, or
trade for a driver you already have, we must research your team
and verify that your team was entered into the system correctly.
This adds to the amount of work required to maintain the league
on a week to week basis. If you do make an invalid trade, we
will provide you with your drivers in the same class as those
involved in the bad trade.
Q7: Why are you so picky with the team names on trades?
A7: With so many teams in the league, and so many players with multiple
teams with similar names, we can not make any assumptions on any trades that
come in.
Q8: Can I have more than one write-in driver?
A8: Yes, you can. Remember, write-in drivers must not be already
listed in any of the classes.
